Organizing Committie
Andreas Kardamakis, PhD
Head of Neural Circuits in Vision for Action group – Institute for Neurosciences CSIC–UMH.
His research merges systems neuroscience, large-scale and whole-cell electrophysiology, and calcium/voltage imaging with computation and behavior to reveal how neural circuits transform vision into action. He investigates the cortico-collicular dynamics that drive visual search in attention, during states of distraction and adaptive behavior.
Isabel Pérez-Otaño, PhD
Head of Plasticity and Remodeling of Neural Circuits group – Institute for Neurosciences CSIC–UMH.
Professor Pérez-Otaño investigates synaptic plasticity and the remodeling of neural circuits. Her research examines how the molecular mechanisms underlying synaptic development contribute to brain maturation and how their alteration is linked to neurological and psychiatric disorders.
Ramón Reig, PhD
Head of the Sensory-Motor Processing by Subcortical Areas group – Institute for Neurosciences CSIC–UMH.
He investigates the neural circuits that govern sensory-motor integration and decision-making. His work combines electrophysiology, behavior, and computational methods to understand how cortical and subcortical areas contribute to action selection and adaptive behavior.
